The Ranch

We had a great weekend visiting with Laura's parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends out at their ranch outside of Waco. We ate way too much shrimp, chicken, ribs, salad, cake, and cookies but thoroughly enjoyed every bite of it. In our spare time we helped cousin Todd build a fort for all of the new members of the family to play, and then we ate more food of course. Kevin flew out of Waco headed to Florida for the week but when he returns it will be more time and more eating with his family in San Antonio!

Peanut Festival and a wedding

Well this year's Floresville Peanut Festival was a bit more exciting than the average year. Kevin's brother Craig and his fiance' Rachel were married at the Antique Rose Emporium in San Antonio. It was a great weekend catching up,playing, and partying with Kevin's extended family. We will get to do even more celebrating this next weekend as Kevin's parents are having a backyard party for Craig and Rachel at their house. Stay tuned for more pics!

New and Improved (one year later)

My how 1/4 of the year flies by! It would be incredibly difficult for us to try to recollect all of the adventures and misadventures of the past 3 months, so we will spare you the boring details and let you visit the summer and early fall with us through pictures.

Of course you may need a little assistance deciphering the content, so we will give you a quick timeline. In our last post, we somehow managed to leave out our 60 hour adventure in NYC. Kevin was in Jersey on business so Laura flew up on Friday completely motivated to show Kevin a glimpse of everything that NYC has to offer. Of course, with such short time all we were able to get was a glimpse of everything, but it was totally succesful from Brooklyn to the Upper West Side. Oh, and we're ready to go again.

Kevin has been taking numerous week long business trips to New Jersey, Florida, and Boston. In the meantime, Laura has been busy playing on their coed soccer team (Crown Royal) and has recently begun playing on an all women's team (the Bullies). We have also been enjoying more time out and about with friends from A&M and work. Not to mention we had two great visits from family...one being Kevin's mom and sister, and another being Laura's mom, sister, and niece, nephew, and mom's puppy Libbie. Finally we just returned from a trip to Marfa in West Texas. It was a completely surreal trip topped off with a free concert of one of our favorite bands, Ghostland Observatory. Not a bad way to wrap up our first year of marriage!

But the excitement's not over, please stay tuned to our blog for future posts. We will be attending Kevin's brother's wedding in the next week, visiting Laura's extended family at their ranch, playing lots of soccer, going to our nephew's 5th birthday, and of course welcoming the real Fall. Hope all is well and please, please, please don't give up on us just yet!
