Poteet Strawberry Festival

We heard that a small town outside of San Antonio hosts a Strawberry Festival every year. In order to be the cultural connoisseurs that we are, we decided we should check it out. Little did we know that this small festival would be the size of the state fair! After sitting in traffic for two hours, we finally made it to our first Strawberry Festival. Unlike Peanut Festival, there were actually plenty of strawberries everywhere...and we were able to sample the ice cream, short cake, and of course chocolate covered strawberries on a stick (photo below). It was a nice little experience but since we actually did get the t-shirt, there will be no need to go back ever again...but we think you should.

So some people have a difficult time believing that Laura is actually a construction worker. We know it is a strange concept but there is actual photographic proof! (she's the one in the wheelbarrow) This photo was taken with all of her fellow Americorps members enjoying a well deserved break from their normal Habitat for Humanity environment so that they could do a little gardening for their community service project at the local Boys & Girls Club. Have a good laugh and enjoy!

This ring is too small! Posted by Hello

We're engaged!

We would first like to welcome everyone to our official blog. Sure, we picked "Laura & Kevin" instead of "Kevin & Laura", not as some equality thing, but just because kevinandlaura was taken already...or so they say.

So I guess now is the time to tell you that we are engaged. Yes, it took 3.5 years, but Kevin finally got the courage to ask Laura's dad. In typical Kevin and Laura style, we've been engaged for a month now and have already encountered our first hurdle. While our ring was out for sizing, Tiffany & Co. decided it would be funny to send us someone else's ring to try. It is a very nice ring and as you can see, our whole household enjoyed trying it on for size. We want ours back.

We will be posting more as other rings are sent our way, so check back often...as our story continues.
