Summer Fun

If I would have waited two more days, I could have reached the 2 month slacker mark. Well lucky for all of you devoted blogger fans, it is about time for another update. It's been so long I can't even remember what all has happened since our last post.

I guess we should start with the eventful (memorable) moments first. Kevin is officially an old man as we recently found ourselves attending his ten year high school reunion. The whole "fiesta" began at the city park with a casual gathering with hot dogs, snow cones, and lots of strange little kids with "I belong to..." name tags running around. Unfortunately Lilly did not attend, or we would have gladly showed her off. After the little picnic and token group picture, we went back to Kevin's parents house to catch a little World Cup action and a nap of course. Later that night we found ourselves at the Knights of Columbus hall in downtown Floresville, where we dined on barbeque and byob...or Crown Royal in our case. We enjoyed meeting and re-meeting some locals and got plenty of phone numbers and email addresses to keep in touch...hopefully we are a bit better at that than we are blogging.

The weekend before our excursion to Floresville, we drove up to Laura's parents house for a little summertime fun with the family. We warned them that we were coming to relax in the sun, so don't expect much more from us. Luckily that was the sentiment felt by the rest of the family as Laura's sister and her family as well as her brother and his wife came out to visit and swim for a while as well. All in all it was exactly what we were expecting and needed to help kick start the summer.

How is Austin you ask? Well we love it more and more every day. We are slowly finding ourselves getting involved in some of the fabulous activities offered around the town. We have created a coed soccer team with some local friends that will play in a social league. We have only had one practice thus far, and surprisingly we're not that bad. Of course, stay tuned for updates as the season begins soon ( and for pictures of Laura's new pink cleats!). We are also trying to take in some of the vast music scene the town has to offer...beginning with an acoustical Pete Yorn concert.

And I guess when we are not out trying to have fun, we are both working. Fortunately we are both greatly enjoying our jobs and can't really find anything to complain about. Sorry for not updating everything sooner, but we will plenty of fun times to share with you soon. Until next time, enjoy the heat of the summer and HAPPY 4th of JULY!
