Marriage...and other crazy events
To all of you who never thought it would happen...yes, we finally decided to get all dressed up, exchange vows, exchange rings, and have our parents throw us a couple of parties. In other words, we're now married. No we didn't quite take a honeymoon yet; rather we decided that we just couldn't bear to be away from our lovely jobs for an extended amount of time and that we needed to rush back to work. For you non-gullible members of the audience, we are saving money to hopefully take a trip abroad this upcoming summer. So basically it was quickly back to life as usual.
In other news, Kevin has received a couple of offers from a research lab in Austin and will be starting with them in late November. Yes we are very excited about the upcoming prospect of moving and getting situated, but have a rather large dilemma on our hands. It just so happens that we signed a lease renewal in late September that had us renting our current apartment through May. In perfect Kevin and Laura timing, Kevin received his offer from Austin one week after our new lease started...can you tell what is coming next? Since we live in a complex that is owned by a large development conglomeration they are not very keen on contract negotiations and therefore will not let us out of our lease without paying it all out up front. Anyone see the dilemma yet? Unless we find a subleaser or suddenly win the lottery we will be living a bit of an inconvenient life of commuting, shacking up with friends, and living in two different towns through May. The honeymoon didn't last long as the realities of life in the 'grown up' world have officially sunk in. We are very excited about our future life as official citizens of Austin, and will grin and bear it the next few month. Need you ask?Yes you are all invited to visit.
Those of you seeking a Lilly update, we do not have too much to report as she has been enjoying a two week vacation with her grandparents in Granbury. We hear she has enjoyed sunbathing by the pool, chasing squirrels up the trees, and trying unappreciatively to keep Laura's parents warm at night. We're ready to have her back seeing that we haven't seen any of our neighborhood friends in two weeks and well the house just doesn't seem near hairy enough.
Well we are off to prepare for our South Texas reception this weekend. It is guaranteed to be a good time with promises of mexican food, margaritas, and pinatas if anyone is interested in joining....of course you're all invited.
Above are a few pictures of our wedding and reception in Granbury on the 15th, with many more pics of both receptions to follow in a few days. Take care and thanks for logging in once again to the saga that is Kevin and Laura.
