It's rough being a dog

We admit it, Lilly hasn't really had her fair share of exposure on the blog. It's time for us to share a little about life from her perspective. For those of you who have yet to meet her, she has quite an unusual personality for a canine. For a dog who appears to be spoiled, she sure has quite a few paranoias. Being part greyhound, she really does love to run. She is what you would call a sprinter, we are more long distance runners. So, when she sees us in running shoes you can not pry her off of the couch. For instance, we started running again recently and the first day she got really excited and put her harnass on and went outside with us only to be tricked into running a couple of miles. She happened to do better than us but it somehow managed to scar her because she refuses to go out again. We invited her again last week but she could only manage to make it halfway down the stairs before having a complete breakdown and having to turn around.(see photos above). Then there are the thunderstorms. Down here in South Texas we do not get too many strong storms, but when we do she is literally a nervous wreck. She typically heeds the meteorologists warnings and heads to an enclosed room (Kevin's closet) and waits out the storm. Well recently she must have sensed a stronger system moving through as when we got home, we could not find her anywhere. Eventually Kevin peeked in Laura's closet(probably the cushiest place in the house) to see Lilly's tiny head peek up out of the clothes hamper which had been serving as her coccoon throughout the storm. Of course once we stopped laughing for both stories, we had to take some photos to share with everyone. More to come later. enjoy~
